Your local running girl gang.
Hi! My name is Hannah, the founder of Hartford Sole Sisters Run Club.
As the clocks changed late last year, I was met with the horrifying statistic that around 37% of women stopped walking alone in ‘quiet places’ at night because they felt unsafe. For those of us who leave for work in the morning in the dark & return from work in the evening in the dark it makes going out for a daylight run almost impossible. I’ve been a runner for about 10 years & have spent many 6am wake ups worrying my parents going running on my own despite the fact we live in a safe neighbourhood.
So, I founded Hartford Sole Sisters to create a place where women can feel safe running in the dark, to come together with likeminded individuals who need a bit of motivation to get out during the colder evenings, or just as a reason to escape the kids for an hour or so!
No runner is too slow, or too fast - we’ll always accommodate the pace of every individual in the group.
Hopefully I’ll meet many more of you soon! Han x
