Padi’s Place

Salford

We can’t explain Padis place without talking about the root word “padi”. “Padi” is a West African-originated word; in Nigerian Pidgin, it means friend, mate, close associate; in short, “padi” = someone you roll with / your person. In the African hosting/ hospitality culture, there’s always an element of coziness, food, and community. Padis place aims to embrace that culture by hosting intentionally curated gatherings that make attendees feel welcome and comfortable, you know, like at their “Padis” house. Our goal is to turn more strangers into Padis and build a community.

Jazz guitarist club

London

Hey everyone! I’m a jazz guitar student based here in London, looking to connect with fellow guitarists. I strongly believe that "practice makes perfect," and there's no better way to improve than by playing with others. I'm setting up this club to create a chill, ego-free space where we can jam on jazz standards, share knowledge, and grow together as musicians. **What We Do** * **Jam Sessions:** Playing through classic jazz standards from the Real Book in a relaxed, supportive environment. * **Skill Building:** Focusing on practical guitar skills—trading fours to improve our **improvisation**, locking in our **comping**, and laying down solid **walking bass line grooves** for each other. * **Networking & Sharing:** Swapping tips on music theory, practice routines, and navigating the fretboard. **Who Is This For?** Whether you're a fellow student figuring out your ii-V-I progressions or just someone wanting a regular space to keep your chops up, you are totally welcome! No pressure, no judgment—just good vibes and a shared love for jazz guitar.

The Music Comeback Club

London

🌻The Music Comeback Club is officially born!🌻 This idea came from a New Year’s resolution I made to start learning how to play the flute again. I played in primary school, up till the age of 13 - but life, secondary school, teenage angst and other expensive hobbies made me decide to quit. Since becoming an adult and being naturally more nostalgic, I’ve spent years saying, “I used to be able to read music!” “I wish I could play this song on the flute!” I’d love to start again one day…” If that’s you, then welcome. 💛 This isn’t about those terrifying grades, difficult music pieces or even being any good! It’s about dusting off that instrument, having a laugh, making a few mistakes, and remembering why child-you loved playing in the first place. The plan is to meet up with an instrument, decide a song to learn, practice it, perform it, and feel like we’re back in primary school orchestra! Whether you haven’t played for 5 years or 35 years, you’re in good company here. So… what instrument did you give away years ago, as you felt you’d never use it? Or is there one hiding in your parent’s attic, or in the back of a cupboard somewhere? 👀 I’d love to know in the comments. It’s never too late to play again. 🎶
